Crawl/Climb
Full Radius Dance in concert
Full Radius Dance returns to Seven Stages Theatre on June 3 & 4, 2005, along with special guests Good Moves Consort.
The program includes:
The Wounding of Cupid, choreographed by Full Radius Dance Artistic Director Douglas Scott. Set to English madrigals, this humorous work casts an eye on a quartet of refined individuals to whom love is game, the lover a plaything and the heart a toy.
Good Moves Dance Consort will appear in a work by choreographer Pamala Jones Malavé entitled Shards. Driven by the dynamics of interaction among the dancers and their relationship to the music, Shards is infused with a sense of weight and breathe in order to layer its texture from section to section.
A trio, People in the City, choreographed by Full Radius Dance company members Nicola Ayoub, JoJo Butler and Laurel Lawson. City folk pull and push their way around to get
to work, make the final deal, catch the last bus, all while trying to look cool and ever chic on their shiny cell phones.
Crawl, choreography by Douglas Scott, is a raw dance filled with frenetic movement. It is a depiction of the evils found within our troubled contemporary world.
Climb, also choreographed by Douglas Scott, is a companion piece to Crawl. Where Crawl is dark, Climb is light; where Crawl is anguished, Climb is serene. Climb reveals the quiet joy and beauty that is found within the human soul.
Tickets for the performance are $15.00 for adults and $12.00 for seniors 55 & over, children 12 & under and working artists.
