Applications for the Modern Atlanta Dance (MAD) Festival closed on April 2021

The Modern Atlanta Dance (MAD) Festival presents the best dance from Georgia-based artists and companies each year. Consistently amazing lineups of modern and contemporary dance wow audiences with a variety of choreographers, styles, and artistic visions in a single evening. In 2021, the festival will, once again, be presented virtually.

Applications will be accepted from modern and contemporary dance choreographers, individual artists, and companies that reside within the State of Georgia. You may submit a previously created dance film or a dance work you'd like to present as a film. In 2020, MAD artists partnered with some of Atlanta's finest composers and videographers to create new dance films.

There is no application fee. Selected works will receive an honorarium.

We anticipate announcing the 2021 Festival Artists in late June/early July of 2021. Check back in with us then.

27years and counting

Created by Douglas Scott in 1995 to showcase the diversity and excellence of Atlanta's dance scene, the festival is the only professionally juried dance festival in the southeast. In addition to cultivating new audiences through the festival format, Full Radius Dance has presented more than 90 companies and independent choreographers on the MAD stage; more than 1200 dancers; and have paid more than $60,000 in honoraria to MAD participants. The festival builds community for local artists and companies, with joint classes and community events.
