Dance Classes

TADA – The Atlanta Dance Academy (Atlanta)

Adaptive Dance for Children with Disabilities is a weekly dance class including ballet, jazz, and hip-hop for individuals ages 8+ with diagnoses including global developmental delay, down syndrome, autism, and cerebral palsy.

The Positive Motion program for Seniors is a free weekly dance class for senior citizens, designed to improve the quality of life for those with mild to moderate dementia, Parkinson's, or those who may be in a wheelchair or use a walker.

Atlanta Dance Central (Roswell)

Physio Jazz dance classes for ages 8 to Adult fuses dance techniques with functional movements to improve balance, coordination, flexibility, strength, and mobility focusing on facilitating lasting improvements in the quality of life for individuals with disabilities.

A Chance To Dance welcomes a wide range of dancers with disabilities including those with autism, vision/auditory disabilities, Down Syndrome, and those who use wheelchairs.

The Georgia Ballet (Marietta)

DanceAbility is geared toward children whose physical or developmental disabilities make it difficult or impossible to participate in a regular ballet class. The classes work on developing basic mobility skills such as motor planning, body awareness, balance, and movement with the beat of music.

Georgia Dance Theatre (Peachtree City)

Dance Without Limits was created for children with disabilities to give them an outlet to move freely with creative movement, dance, and coordination skills. This class is in a dance environment where the dance curriculum is modified so the children can gain the most from the class in a positive, nurturing environment.

Dance Without Limits is designed for students ages seven and up with physical disabilities, Down syndrome, autism, and other developmental challenges.

Dance for Parkinson’s is designed to offer numerous benefits to individuals with Parkinson’s disease. Dance classes help improve physical function by enhancing balance, coordination, flexibility, range of motion, and strength.

Frankie Mulinix (Atlanta)

Disabled teaching artist experienced in teaching breath, voice, movement, and acting to clients with disabilities, including those with cerebral palsy, vision impairment, cancer, pneumonectomy, and other diagnoses.
Meaghan Novoa/Novoa Dances (Atlanta)
Disabled choreographer who works with disabled and non disabled dancers in their projects.
Alex Spitzer (Atlanta)

Alex Spitzer is a disabled professional choreographer and dancer in Atlanta. Currently he dances with Beacon Dance since 2014 and Secretary on their Board of Directors. He is on the Board of Directors and co-chair for the Performing Arts Council for the National Dance Society. He was Artistic Director of the Spitzer Dance Company from 1992-2014. In 1999 he received his B.A. in Dance from Texas Woman's University. He studied dance at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, and while there his work was presented in the American College Dance Festival Gala Concert in San Marcos, Texas. Alex has studied in modern, ballet, jazz, and integrated dance techniques.
